Are you interested in a high-performing daily disposable contact lens that is designed off of the wildly popular Acuvue Oasys 2-week contact lens?
If so, you should strongly consider trying Johnson & Johnson Vision's Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe contact lens.
Below is the complete Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe contact lens review.
Outstanding breathability
One of the key components to contact lens comfort is the amount of oxygen that passes through the lens material to nourish the front surface of your eye (i.e. oxygen permeability or breathability). Another way of thinking about this is the more breathable the lens, the better the comfort.
Acuvue Oasys 1-Day boasts the second most breathable material of any daily contact lens on the market!
HydraLuxe Technology = tear-like moisture
In addition to its excellent breathability, this lens features HydraLuxe Technology that provides an enhanced network of tear-like molecules that mimic and help support a stable, natural tear film.
This helps minimize friction and maintain moisture on the front surface of the eye, reducing the feeling of dry, tired eyes.
Best-in-class UV protection
Providing 96.1% UVA and >99.9% UVB protection, Acuvue Oasys 1-Day delivers one of the highest levels of UV protection available through a daily contact lens.
Since exposure to UV radiation is known to cause damage to your eyes, this added protection is a welcomed bonus that sets this lens apart from its competitors.
Powers, availability, and more
Acuvue Oasys 1-Day is available in powers ranging from -12 to +8. Therefore, it is designed to fit a large range of contact lens wearers.
Also, it has a blue visibility tint and a “123” inside-out marking that makes it easier for you to put in and take out.
When fit with Acuvue Oasys 1-Day by your eye care professional, you’ll receive a trial box that contains 5 contact lenses for each eye. Once your prescription is finalized, these contacts are available for purchase in 30 packs and 90 packs.
It's important to emphasize that these lenses are specifically intended for daily wear and should be disposed of at the end of each day. As indicated in the name, they are not approved for overnight use and should not be worn while sleeping.
Note: If you plan on taking your daily contact lenses out for a nap or to go swimming, we recommend storing them in Biotrue, RevitaLens, or Opti-free Pure Moist contact lens solutions.
Does Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe have a contact lens for astigmatism?
Yes! Released to the US market in 2017, Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe for Astigmatism is a great option if you have enough astigmatism to be corrected in a contact lens.
Contact lens movement is particularly important when talking about contacts for astigmatism. If a lens has excessive lens movement, your vision will not remain clear as you blink. This lens has what is known as a Blink Stabilized Design that works naturally with the eyelids to help keep the lens in the correct position.
Does Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe have a contact lens for presbyopia?
Unfortunately, no. However, Johnson and Johnson Vision recently launched Acuvue Oasys MAX 1-Day Multifocal, which has very similar lens properties to Acuvue Oasys 1-Day.

My experience fitting Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe contact lenses
As a premium daily silicone hydrogel contact lens, I've had a lot of success fitting Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe. It's designed off of the extremely popular Acuvue Oasys 2-week contact lens and performs well from both a vision and comfort perspective.
Recently, Johnson and Johnson Vision launched Acuvue Oasys MAX 1-Day, which is identical to Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe except for the fact that it features blue light protection. For my patients interested in blue light protection in a contact lens, I offer them Acuvue Oasys MAX 1-Day. Otherwise, I've stuck with the better-priced and equally effective Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe.
If the price of Acuvue Oasys MAX 1-Day drops or research better supports the benefits of blue light protection in contact lenses, I'm sure my prescribing preferences will change.
